Built by people who lived the problem.
We built Troposphere because we needed it ourselves. After years of consulting on other people's cloud, we got tired of solving the same three problems for every client by hand.
From the consulting trenches.
We come from a consulting background — years of cloud architecture and software development work, building and running systems for clients of every shape and size. Across every engagement, the same three questions kept landing on our desks.
Where is this money going? Who has access to this resource? Is any of this actually compliant? And every time, the answers lived in three different consoles, four different exports, and a spreadsheet someone was hand-maintaining at 11pm — because the cost tool couldn't tell you who had access, the identity tool couldn't tell you what it cost, and the policy tool generated reports nobody read.
We kept building the same glue code over and over, and kept thinking, there has to be a better way. So we built one. Troposphere is the platform we wished we'd had on every consulting engagement: a single, normalised model of every cloud resource, every dollar, every principal, and every policy — all joined together, all updated continuously.
Five opinions that shape everything we ship.
- 01
Visibility is the prerequisite.
You cannot govern what you cannot see. Every Troposphere feature starts from a single, normalised view of what's actually in your cloud.
- 02
The org chart is the schema.
Real teams own real budgets and real resources. Cost, access, and policy should follow how your business is organised — not how your billing export is structured.
- 03
Continuous beats periodic.
A compliance check that runs once a quarter isn't a check. A budget you read once a month is already blown. Everything Troposphere does, it does on a loop.
- 04
No agents. No friction.
Read-only credentials, sensible defaults, five-minute setup. If we can't earn your trust without asking you to deploy infrastructure, we don't deserve it.
- 05
Boring, until it shouldn't be.
Software for finance and platform teams should work the way the rest of your tools work — quietly, predictably, without surprises. We save the drama for the dashboard, when it matters.
For the people who keep the cloud running.
Three audiences, one platform — and no favourites.
Finance & FinOps
You want to allocate, forecast, and explain spend without depending on an engineer to pull the data. We give you a model that maps cleanly to your org chart and updates itself.
Platform & SRE
You want guardrails that hold without slowing anyone down, and an honest answer when finance asks 'why did this go up?'. Continuous policy, real cost allocation, a single inventory.
Security & GRC
You want continuous evidence, not screenshots from quarterly reviews. Unified principal directory, mapped role assignments, and policies that run on a loop with an audit trail.
Curious to see it on your own cloud?
Connect a read-only credential and you're live in five minutes. The principles only matter if the product holds up — see for yourself.
